About us
Clos de Tsampéhro was born of an ideal: to produce great wines, with specifications that allow no compromise on quality and the greatest respect for our planet. Le Clos is therefore organically farmed. We are certified with the Bio Suisse bud label.
The wines of Clos de Tsampéhro seek to sublimate a unique place thanks to the alliance between the know-how handed down by generations of winegrowers and current oenological knowledge. Our aim is to ensure the longevity of this great Valais terroir. That's why we work without herbicides or pesticides and use only organic treatments. Biodynamic principles are also applied in our vineyards.
Three hectares of precious schistous and sandy-loam soils make up the exceptional terroir of Le Clos, soaking up the sunshine of the Central Valais and giving richness, intensity and smoothness to the wines.
Ten grape varieties have been chosen with the aim of producing blends that boldly combine indigenous varieties with international varieties.
Recognition
Clos de Tsampéhro aims to produce wines that reflect the distinctive character of the mosaic of terroirs in the Valais. Today, our wines are recognised by international critics such as Jancis Robinson MW, Julia Harding MW, Yves Beck and René Gabriel, as well as by leading wine magazines such as Vinum, Gault & Millau (125 best Swiss winemakers), Falstaff and Schweizerische Weinzeitung. Sustainable culture
Proud of our commitment to quality and sustainability, Clos de Tsampéhro cultivates its vines in harmony with nature. These practices reinforce our commitment to responsible production and ensure that our customers enjoy exceptional wines that respect the environment.
Wine philosophy
We operate with the greatest respect for the soil and the environment. All our treatments are carried out using natural products. We do not use any weedkillers. To develop a balanced ecosystem in our Clos, we have planted many fruit trees. We also seek to preserve our land and ensure its long-term survival by planting native shrubs to counter the erosion that can be caused by the steep slopes of the Clos, and by installing insect hotels. Green fertilisers are used in the form of red clover, alfalfa and fescue. We also apply compost and deposit shredded prunings and pomace (skins and pips) from our grapes after fermentation. The aim of all this is to add natural organic matter.
